DESCRIPTION:Bookings are open for all three termly meetings of the SEERIH
  Rochdale REAL Trust Primary Science Subject Leader Regional Network.\n\
 nAutumn term meeting: 13 November 2023\, 13:00-16:00\n\nSpring term meet
 ing: 5 March 2024\, 13:00-16:00\n\nSummer term meeting: 9th July 2024\, 
 13:00-16:00\n\nPlease note that this Network is open to schools for who 
 are members of the REAL Trust.  If you are based in Rochdale but your sc
 hool is not a member\, please come along to the Greater Manchester Open 
 Network.\n\nWe're delighted that SEERIH's termly Primary Science Subject
  Leader Regional Networks are continuing for 2023-24. In order to facili
 tate forward planning in schools\, all three meetings are open to book n
 ow. Please book tickets for the sessions you are able to attend. We enco
 urage teachers attend all three sessions wherever possible\, in order to
  get the most out of the experience.\n\nThe Network welcomes new and est
 ablished Primary Science Subject Leaders of all experience levels to sha
 re and improve practice\, providing a unique opportunity to speak with o
 ther Subject Leaders in your area about the issues that are affecting ea
 ch of you. Expert-led professional development inputs will support you w
 ith up-to-date issues\, skills and resources.\n\nExpectations of attendi
 ng the network include engaging with pre-course tasks/reading and submit
 ting your response to a Gap Task. This is a compulsory element of the ne
 twork to ensure the CPD is meaningful and impactful.\n\nYour timetable:\

  ENQUIRY\n\nHow do I move pupils' disciplinary learning on? Explore what
  progression in enquiry looks like from EYFS to KS2. Revisit the five en
 quiry types and how to plan opportunities for these within the curriculu
 m.\n\nSpring term meeting: 5 March 2024\, 13:00-16:00\n\nLITERACY AND NU
 MERACY\n\nEnsure your cross-curricular links are meaningful and impactfu
 l. Discover how pupils can be given opportunities to practise and embed 
 literacy and numeracy skills through their science.\n\nSummer term meeti
 ng: 9 July 2024\, 13:00-16:00\n\nTALK IN PRIMARY SCIENCE\n\nExplore the 
 importance of encouraging pupil talk in primary science. With a lot of s
 ubject-specific vocabulary and abstract concepts\, you will understand t
 he importance of providing opportunities for dialogue.\n\nLinked to 'The
  10 Key Issues with Children's Learning in Primary Science in England'\n
 \nInspired by the findings of The 10 Key Issues with Children's Learning
  in Primary Science in England (Bianchi\, L.\, Whittaker\, C. and Poole\
 , A.\, 2020) report\, SEERIH Subject Leader Networks explore the latest 
 developments in primary science. The report presents classroom findings 
 as seen through the eyes of primary science specialists to stimulate deb
 ate across all parties committed to developing science in primary school
 s. It invites us all to reflect upon the findings and to consider the im
 plications to our area of activity or focus.\n\nAttending these termly N
 etworks is an interactive and practical way help you to to tackle these 
 issues in your school and raise the profile of science.\n
