DESCRIPTION:Chaired by Professor Farooq Naeem from the University of Toro
 nto this experimental workshop will briefly cover the theory and empiric
 al basis of cognitive behaviour therapy for patients with schizophrenia\
 , with a focus on learning the basic techniques and strategies. \n\nPart
 icipants are expected to have gone through the Low-Intensity CBTp Manual
 . Topics covered will include\, formulation\, normalization\, working wi
 th delusions\, working with hallucinations\, and working with negative s
 ymptoms. The workshop will mainly use video and practice role plays\, br
 ainstorming and group exercises. This workshop will focus on concepts un
 derpinning CBT for psychosis and the basic techniques to use techniques 
 to address negative and positive symptoms for those with schizophrenia.\
 n\n\nTARGET AUDIENCE\nMental health professionals working with persons w
 ith schizophrenia and academics working in the relevant fields.\n\nAt th

 standing of the theoretical assumptions behind traditional CBT for psych
