A presentation will be given by Dr Patrick G. Allen from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, USA entitled:
‘Characterisation of radiation damage and coordination in plutonium using EXAFS and TEM.’
Following the presentation there will be opportunity for questions/discussion and light refreshments will be available afterwards.
Dr Allen's research interests are in solid-state physics and structural inorganic chemistry, with particular emphasis on the study of actinide elements and their physical properties. He also has extensive experience in structural characterisation techniques-including synchrotron-based x-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) and time-resolved spectroscopic methods.
