DESCRIPTION:Katie and Pip\nby Tin Can People (UK)\n\nKatie & Pip celebrat
es the relationship between Katie\, a 15 year old girl with type 1 diabe
tes\, and ‘Pip’ her 5 year old border collie\, trained by Katie to save
her life on a daily basis. It is made with dramaturgical support from An
dy Smith.\n\nThe performance investigates the pairing between humans and
dogs as a vehicle to explore compassion and companionship in the human
social condition. On a journey of extreme highs and extreme lows\, they
celebrate freedom and living life to the full\; watch dogs be humans and
humans be dogs as this chaotic and unpredictable collision of youth unf
olds.\n\nKatie & Pip is commissioned by Derelict with dramaturgical supp
ort from Andy Smith. The project has been supported by Making Room & Lan
caster Arts through their artists’ development programme Foot in the Doo
r.\n\nTin Can People is an emerging company from the north-west who have
shown their work the UK and internationally. They are an artistic colle
ctive led by Charlotte Berry & Rob Gregson who live and work in Preston.
Making interdisciplinary theatre & performance for studios\, museums\,
pubs & kitchens\, they devise work collaborating with performers and non
-performers.\n\nTin Can People are current associate artists with Dereli
ct\, a leading programme of contemporary performance and live art in Pre
ston.\n\nBoys will be Girls and Girls will be Boys\nby KASK/Mole Wethere
