DESCRIPTION:See the everyday world a little differently\, with this free 
 exhibition from urban sketcher and award-winning illustrator\, Lynne Cha
 pman.\n\nThe exhibition features over fifty metres of beautiful sketches
 \, produced during Lynne’s year as Leverhulme artist-in-residence at the
  Morgan Centre for Research into Everyday Lives\, part of the University
  of Manchester.\n\nAll the work on display was painted in real time\, on
  the spot\, capturing the stories of people and places. Lynne adds her o
 wn observations as she sketches\, weaving text into the images\, creatin
 g lively and often funny incites into what is happening around her as sh
 e works.\n\nTry some of Lynne’s sketching ideas for yourselves on our sk
 etching table – it doesn’t matter whether you are already a keen sketche
 r or a complete beginner (or even one of those adults who says ‘I can’t 
 even draw stick-men’). There are lots of simple tips from Lynne to get y
 ou started\, so why not give it a go?\n\nThe exhibition is open from 10-
 5pm most days but please check our website for exact times. We are close
 d on Sunday 31 July.\n\nWe will also be holding two family workshops dur
 ing the exhibition\, on 26 July and 1 August for adults and children age
 d 9 and up (workshops are free but you will need to register to get a pl
