 ent:''' \n\nWe have successfully obtained funding from the UMRI Pump Pri
 ming Programme to invite a group of scientists using proteomics and meta
 bolomics to a workshop to try to form a cohesive and unified strategy to
  underpin challenges in this area. As the contact between metabolomics a
 nd proteomics fields at analytical and informatics levels is limited\, t
 he aim is to invite all the different groups in Manchester to a morning 
 of talks to discuss what they do\, what their workflows are\, where the 
 main challenges are. There will then be a series of talks from bioinform
 atics experts about their ideas\, protocols and developments\; ending wi
 th a discussion session over lunch intended to summarise the day and out
 line ways forward.\n\nAs part of the effort to increase synergy\, a rese
 archer will be embedded into each participating laboratory to gain more 
 detailed information about workflows\, strengths\, weaknesses and to ide
