Annea Lockwood Ear-Walking Woman (1996)
Xenia Pestova Bennett All Aglow (2023)
Pianist and composer Xenia Pestova Bennett explores the full spectrum of sound that can be drawn out of a piano in Annea Lockwood’s “Ear-Walking Woman”. This sonic journey will be complemented with excerpts from “All Aglow”, Xenia’s new work exploring bioluminescence in the sea.
“A brilliantly free-thinking and fearless pianist” - Verity Sharp, BBC Radio 3
“Superb pianism at work... extraordinary” - Bernard Clarke, RTE Lyric FM
"Credit is due to Pestova Bennett whose playing is exemplary throughout, allowing every note space to be heard yet never sounding rigid... a triumph" - John Eyles, All About Jazz
