DESCRIPTION:The University of Manchester Gateway Programme provides a new
  opportunity for Year 7-11 learners within Greater Manchester to partici
 pate in a coherent series of academic enrichment and Higher Education aw
 areness activities.\n\nThe Y8 Exploration Visit will explore different c
 ourses to familiarise learners with the range of subjects offered by uni
 versities\, which will be followed by curriculum taster sessions across 
 STEM (Science\, Technology\, Engineering & Maths)\, Medical Human and Bi
 ological Sciences and Humanities subject areas. These activities will pr
 ovide an exciting\, hands-on experience\, combining teambuilding\, probl
 em solving and presentation skills. Learners are encouraged and supporte
 d by University students who provide positive role models for the pupils
 .\n
