DESCRIPTION:The workshop is aimed at PGR students based in the North West
\, and will focus on intercultural theatre and demonstrating Applied The
atre as an emotional and cognitive methodology. This is an interactive w
orkshop where participants will be versed in a selection of applied thea
tre techniques. The workshop adopts a reflexive model requiring continuo
us reflection on the nature and validity of the techniques and the appli
cation they might have within the participants own research.\n\n\nBy the
end of the day participants will gain a solid understanding of an outst
anding example of a piece of practice led research. They will understand
various methods of turning and harnessing various types of arts practic
e into a project that can be legitimately called ‘research’. Participant
s will gain an understanding of how practical processes and findings can
be articulated on paper.\n\n\nThe workshop is tailored to doctoral stud
ents and early career researchers. \n\n\nDr. Amy Bonsall is a highly exp
erienced theatre director and educationalist. She has delivered workshop
s in South Africa\, Thailand\, Malawi and throughout the UK.\n\n\nBookin
g is via Eventbrite at this link: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/perform
 ance-as-practice-led-research-tickets-47461916871\n\n\nThe workshop is c
