DESCRIPTION:We would like to invite English A-Level students from across 
 Manchester to take part in a series of interactive workshops on Shakespe
 are and his works. \n\nThe day will focus on Shakespearean Tragedy\, wit
 h an enjoyable and stimulating lecture by Dr Jerome De Groot from Englis
 h and American Studies. Academics and postgraduates from the English dep
 artment at the University of Manchester will offer the following worksho
 ps on Shakespeare (provisional):\nShakespeare on film\, Hamlet: key pass
 ages\, Approaching Shakespeare: important ideas. Each workshop lasts one
  hour and students will attend all three. \n\nThis interesting day is fo
 llowed by the annual John Stachniewski Memorial Lecture on Shakespeare i
 n the evening. Previous lecturers have included Professor Kate McLuskie\
 , Director of the Shakespeare Institute in Stratford-upon-Avon. We invit
 e students to stay for the lecture which begins at 5pm.\n
