DESCRIPTION:Teachers can arrange for their post-16 students to visit The 
 University of Manchester campus to support them with the Extended Projec
 t qualification for their students.\n\nThe Extended Project is a single 
 piece of work of a student's choosing that requires evidence of planning
 \, preparation\, research and independent learning. It is available as a
  stand-alone qualification for A-level students and forms part of the Di
 ploma.\n\nDates have been scheduled throughout the year where teachers c
 an bring groups of students onto campus. These visits can include a rese
 arch skills workshop\, a library visit or both.\n\nThe Research Skills W
 orkshop is led by staff and postgraduate students from the University. T
 he workshop introduces students to academic research through a series of
  interactive activities and group work. The library session is led by li
 brary staff and gives students an introduction to locating materials – b
 oth books and online resources – for their assignments. Afterwards\, stu
 dents have independent research time where they can make use of the exte
 nsive resources the library has to offer.\n
