Dear All
Do Come and hear Gabriella Juhasz speak – Thursday 24th October, 12.30 – 13.30 in Lecture Theatre D, Zochonis Building – about her work on the multifactorial causation of depression. She has been an enormously productive member of the Neuroscience and Psychiatry group for about 15 years; first as a post-doc in a large EU consortium and latterly as joint senior research fellow with Semmelweiss University, Budapest. She is a regular visitor to the Division to continue her work. Her research has widened from understanding how genes and psychosocial stress interact in the causation of depression, to include physical co-morbidities, economic factors and diet using the latest Bayesian modelling methods and the rich and massive data resource of the UK Biobank.
Gabi’s formal appointment is coming to an end this month and it seems appropriate that we i) mark the occasion with a lecture on her latest findings and ii) celebrate her contribution with a lunch (from 12 noon in the Hub, Zochonis Building) and expression of thanks with friends and colleagues.
Please do try and come along.
Best wishes
Bill Deakin
Professor of Psychiatry
