  The case of underground punk in the North West of England\nSocial netwo
 rks are often inherently complex and it is important to develop new meth
 ods to deal with these complex structures. Methods and models are now we
 ll developed to deal with bipartite networks\, containing actors of two 
 different types and with ties between these different nodes. As social n
 etworks researchers often we seek to identify local configurations\, pre
 sent in a global network of connected actors\, which have explanatory po
 wer for some social phenomena we are trying to explore. Configurations o
 f interest in bipartite networks are well defined and software is availa
 ble that is able to model these networks using ERGMs. Using the undergro
 und punk music network in the North West as an example\, this paper will
  introduce the concept of tripartite closure in a network of this type\,
  and will introduce a method for testing whether two separate bipartite 
 ERGM models are sufficient for explaining tripartite closure patterns.\n
