DESCRIPTION:Award-winning writer\, acclaimed author and Professor of New 
 Writing at The University of Manchester\, Jeanette Winterson returns to 
 the John Rylands Research Institute and Library this Christmas. For year
 s\, she has written a new story at Christmas time and twelve of these br
 illiantly imaginative\, funny\, and bold tales were published as Christm
 as Days: 12 Stories and 12 Feasts for 12 Days in 2018. She returns to th
 e occasion this year\, to read a story and talk about her work with Crea
 tive Manchester Director and poet\, John McAuliffe.\n\nThe event is part
  of Creative Manchester’s ‘Solstice and Equinox’ series of events which 
 brings innovative creative artists to The University of Manchester’s fou
 r Cultural Institutions. Each of our unique cultural institutions – the 
 Whitworth\, the John Rylands Research Institute and Library\, Manchester
  Museum and Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre – focus on building civic\, na
 tional and international partnerships to advance the social\, environmen
 tal and individual wellbeing of our communities.\n\nThis merry evening t
 akes place at 6pm on Thursday 5 December at John Rylands Research Instit
 ute and Library\, Deansgate. Everyone is welcome.\n\nIt is FREE to regis
