DESCRIPTION:Note the unusual time\, and the unusual location.\n\nTitle: T
ame extensions revisited in the complex context\n\nAbstract: I shall rev
iew the theorems of Marker-Steinhorn and van den Dries concerning standa
rd parts of sets definable in o-minimal structures and then (motivated b
y the results in chapter VI of Abraham Robinson's 'Non-standard Analysis
") apply them to definable complex holomorphic functions. It turns out t
hat in the polynomially bounded case (and only in this case) one can pro
ve strong versions of classical results such as Bloch's theorem and the
Borel-Carathédory theorem. The motivation is\, as ever\, the Zilber conj
ecture for the complex exponential field.
