DESCRIPTION:The Discover Sociology Day will explore in depth the study of
  Sociology at The University of Manchester. The day will consist of an o
 verview of the range of courses\, a careers presentation on opportunitie
 s following graduation in Sociology\, a lecture\, a tour of the faciliti
 es and a choice of workshops from across a range of topics in Sociology.
  \nStudying Sociology will enable you to see the big picture in terms of
  how broader social developments affect individual lives\, and to unders
 tand how we got to where we are today as a society. You will be taught b
 y staff members who are specialists in their field\, meaning that you wi
 ll learn about latest developments within Sociology. You will also be en
 couraged to use your sociological skills to critically examine contempor
 ary society.\nIn addition\, opportunities for students during university
  and after graduation will be discussed with staff and current students.
  This day will give students a real understanding of what it is like to 
 study Sociology at The University of Manchester.\n
