  This year’s Rylands Poetry Reading will be given by Lorna Goodison. \n\
 nBorn in Jamaica\, Lorna Goodison has won numerous awards for her writin
 g in both poetry and prose. Her work has been included in major antholog
 ies and collections over the past 25 years\, and has been translated int
 o many languages.  \n\nShe is Lemuel A. Johnson Professor of English and
  African and Afroamerican Studies at the University of Michigan. \n\nThe
 re will be a drinks reception from 5.30pm\, the poetry reading starts at
