Title: A Sumset Conjecture of Erdos
Abstract: Density combinatorics is about discovering patterns that are guaranteed to belong to every large enough set in a given collection. Szemerédi’s theorem on arithmetic progressions in positive density sets of integers is perhaps the most famous result in this area. In this talk I will describe joint work with J. Moreira and F. Richter on using ideas from ergodic theory to resolve the following density combinatorics conjecture of Erdos: that every positive density set of natural numbers contains the sum B+C of two infinite sets B, C of natural numbers.
