SUMMARY:Tours of Alan Turing and Life’s Enigma
UID:{http://www.columbasystems.com/customers/uom/gpp/eventid/}p2-h37a47mn

DESCRIPTION:Friday 17\, Saturday 18\, Monday 20-Thursday 23 August\, (not
  Sunday 19)\, 1-1.30pm. \nFrom 1951-54 Alan Turing worked on the early c
omputers next door to the Manchester Museum to answer one of the mysteri
es of biology: how simple balls of living cells develop themselves into
complex organisms. The timing of this work is closely connected with his
conviction of gross indecency and 'treatment' with female sex hormone p
ills. The exhibition combines Turing's own notes\, museum objects and 50
 s-inspired exhibition design\, and is a celebration of Turing's single c
ontribution to biology. Part of Manchester Pride Festival.\n
