ract: The goal of these talks is to explore a number of seemingly unrela
ted topics\, in which graphs and trees can be used to capture the struct
ure of important calculations. In each case\, the objects of interest wi
ll turn out to be infinite series\, where the summations run over specia
l classes of graphs or trees.\n\nIn part 3 we will look at how graphical
methods can be used to study thick morphisms (as defined by Ted Voronov
)\, which are generalisations of smooth maps between manifolds that stil
l give rise to pullbacks on functions. These pullbacks are nonlinear and
until recently had no known closed form. This problem has been resolved
by taking inspiration from some of the methods we have looked at in the
previous two lectures.
