DESCRIPTION:How can we think creatively about changing mobilities? Mobili
ty has become a wide and encompassing term covering migrations\, everyda
y travels\, physical movements\, mobile technologies and much more. This
workshop turns to embodied practices as an intriguing site for rethinki
ng our understandings of everyday travel\, transport and movements. \n\n
As part of this project we have carried out a small sub-study to explore
how learning the Alexander Technique may influence people’s experience
of and attitude to mobility\, travel and transport. The workshop will sh
are early findings from the research\, particularly in relation to agein
g and embodiment. \n\nWe are bringing together researchers working in th
is field\, with Alexander Technique teachers/researchers\, to create an
opportunity for discussion and knowledge-sharing. We are looking for res
earchers engaged with work on mobility\, ageing\, holistic relationships
between mind and body\, and embodiment practices to attend our workshop
 . \n
