DESCRIPTION:This is a collaborative webinar involving Oliver O'Brien from
  the Consumer Data Research Centre (CDRC)\, at University College London
 .\n\nThis webinar will unveil the process of creating “Top Metric” demog
 raphic maps\, such as the Top Industry map seen on the CDRC Maps platfor
 m.\n\nAfter discussing the key cartographic\, geographic and technical c
 onsiderations behind the maps\, Oliver O'Brien will walk through creatin
 g such a map\, from obtaining the data from the National Statistics agen
 cies - using Microsoft Excel to pre-process the data and identify what n
 eeds to be shown - to using QGIS to map it appropriately\, accurately an
 d fairly\, and creating a final PDF map.\n\nThe webinar will also outlin
 e some other similar datasets that are available on the CDRC Data platfo
 rm\, some of which have already undergone the “Top Metric” identificatio
 n process.\n\nThe webinar will consist of a 40 minute presentation follo
