Migration and the Modern City: Four Short Films
Michael Wood, the University of Manchester's Professor of Public History, will introduce the first public screening of four short documentary films made by MA students from the University's School of Arts, Languages and Cultures, with the support of the Manchester Museum.
Each film is inspired by the Museum's current focus on 'Migration'. Countering the expectations of some visitors that the Museum is only about Manchester, the astonishing diversity of our collections displays the movement of people, animals, and things around the world.
Come and see how migration has shaped the modern city and its people in four films which will take you from a Bangladeshi curry house to an Italian barbershop, featuring Bosnian pop stars and German-Jewish children.
