 e you to its annual Doubleday lecture\, which will this year be given by
  Sir Robert Francis QC on 29 October 2014 at 2pm. \n\nThe lecture will t
 ake place at the University’s Oxford Road campus.\n\nSir Robert\, who ch
 aired the public inquiry into Mid Stafford hospital\, will also be prese
 nted with the Dr Edwin Doubleday Award for 2014.  The award is given to 
 an individual of standing who has made a significant contribution to pat
 ient care. \n\nThe award and annual lecture is held in memory of Dr Edwi
 n Doubleday\, a St Andrews University and Manchester Medical School stud
 ent who sadly died before completing his medical training. The Dr Edwin 
 Doubleday Fund was created to promote the development of medical trainin
 g.\n\nIt is a great honour for the School to welcome Sir Robert and the 
 lecture will be a great opportunity for the University’s staff and stude
