SUMMARY:Tumour adaptability in endocrine treated breast cancer

DESCRIPTION:In breast cancer\, a significant number of endocrine treated
patients develop recurrent disease. The ability of a tumour to adapt an
d evade endocrine therapy\, though clinically recognised\, remains poorl
y understood. Our group use discovery and molecular studies along with
in vivo and clinical models to investigate signalling pathways central t
o tumour adaptability. We have observed that endocrine therapy can direc
tly contribute to metastasis in resistant tumours and that extracellular
matrix signalling network are switched on at metastatic sites following
  prolonged endocrine treatment.
