DESCRIPTION:In 1917\, the Nobel Prize winner Ernest Rutherford became the
  first person to create an artificial nuclear reaction\, here in laborat
 ories at the University. To mark the centenary and for the first time\, 
 Rutherford’s private research room will be opened for a special exhibiti
 on.\n\nVisitors will be guided around some of the most important scienti
 fic sites of discovery at the University before entering the building in
  which Ernest Rutherford and his colleagues began the field of atomic ph
 ysics. Inside the research room\, you’ll be able to find out about Ruthe
 rford’s life and pioneering work and also discover the stories of other 
 famous physicist who work in the building.\n\nThe exhibition is accessib
 le only by pre booked guided tour tickets.\n\nAll visitors will receive 
 a complementary booklet of the University’s history.
