DESCRIPTION:Conference organised by the Cooperation & Equality Project.\n
\nProgramme:\n\nJerry Gaus (Arizona): ‘Amour-propre as a Basis of Fairne
ss Norms (Or\, Why Being Touchy Protects Egoists from Exploitation)’\n\n
Natalie Gold (KCL): ‘Do People Team Reason?’\n\nElisabeth Pacherie (Jean
Nicod): 'Forms and Levels of Sharing in Joint Agency'\n\nThomas Smith (
Manchester): 'The Best Thing for Us to Do'\n\nWe are sharing animals. We
need to share to achieve our goals. Perhaps uniquely among species\, we
value sharing as an end in itself. \n\nWe share agency when we act toge
ther\, working with rather than around or alongside each other. We also
share benefits and burdens (including responsibilities). We also speak o
f sharing attitudes\, emotions and experiences. In what sense are such t
hings shared? And what are the connections between these sorts of sharin
g? In particular\, does the sharing of agency entail the sharing of atti
tudes\, reasons or perspectives? And does it entail\, or normatively req
uire\, a sharing of burdens and benefits? What are the conceptual connec
tions between "sharing out" (apportioning) "sharing with" (co-ownership)
and "sharing in" (participation)?\n\nRegistration is free and includes
lunch\, teas\, and coffees. Delegates are also invited to join speakers
for dinner at their own expense **REGISTRATION CLOSES 1st June**\n\nTo
