 2023\, we invite you to join our Heritage Tour. Tours run at 11am\, 12:3
 0pm\, and 2pm. Booking essential.\n\nThe University of Manchester was th
 e country’s first ‘civic’ university. Our civic identity has made us one
  of the most successful universities in the world.\n\nUncover the storie
 s behind our historic buildings as we take you on a tour of our unique c
 ampus. Starting in the university's neo-gothic Old Quadrangle\, this tou
 r explores the origins of the University of Manchester - a radical\, pro
 gressive institution rooted in the inequality\, exploitation and innovat
 ion that made Manchester the 'shock city' of the industrial revolution. 
 Join us for a story of pioneering figures and world-changing discoveries
 \; some written in the names of our buildings\, others hidden just below
  the surface. Our tour concludes on the 'Street of Science'\, the street
  that changed the world.\n\nTours last up to an hour\, and will be outdo
 ors throughout. Attendees under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an 
 adult at all times. At the end of the tour\, you will be guided to our n
 ew Engineering Building.
