 roject on 7th March 2018 in Renold Building C16. \n \nThis talk is open 
 to all University staff and students and is being hosted by hosted by IM
 echE on the occasion of the 10th Anniversary of the Design Challenge. As
  part of the anniversary the IMechE challenge is also being held at the 
 University.\n \nTopic: PERSEVERANCE AND PUSHING BOUNDARIES IN MODERN ENG
 INEERING: THE BLOODHOUND STORY\n \nDelivered by Richard Noble OBE\, CEO 
 of Bloodhound. Come hear his inspirational story in person.\n \nRichard 
 Noble specialises in developing high risk ventures. Obviously not all of
  them can be successful\, but the Thrust2 programme which brought the Wo
 rld Land Speed Record back to Britain in 1983 and the Thrust SSC first e
 ver supersonic land speed record programme are the best known. \n \nRich
 ard Noble's other projects include the ARV Super2 light aircraft\, the A
 tlantic Sprinter Blue Riband contender\, Programme Funding\, an original
  television funding company\, Farnborough Aircraft\, the first distribut
 ed travel air taxi aircraft and currently the Mach 1.4 Bloodhound SSC pr
 oject the latest in the long line of Land Speed Record cars now being ru
