DESCRIPTION:The Course\nThis will be the first international training wor
 kshop in the iBASIS-VIPP method of parent-mediated video-aided therapy f
 or families of infants at-risk of autism. \n\nThis is a ‘pre-emptive’ in
 tervention for infants at genetic risk (by virtue of having an autistic 
 sibling\, or a known genetic disorder carrying high risk for autism)\, o
 r those with identified evidence of early social communication atypicali
 ties in development in the first year.  \n\nAim\nThe course will prepare
  participants to undertake a post-course supervised practice on two case
 s\, which will be followed by a fidelity assessment. After that the prac
 titioner will be able to practice the method for clinical and research p
 urposes. \n\nQualifications\nProfessional qualification in a relevant cl
 inical discipline. \nExperience in working clinically with young childre
 n and families\nIdeally\, experience in work with autism (but this is no
 t essential)\n\nTraining\nThe 4 day training will cover:\n•	theoretical 
 background of the method\n•	prior evidence base for its effectiveness in
  different populations\n•	core procedures and manualised protocol \n•	de
 tailed video-examples of each stage in therapy \n•	training exercises an
 d feedback\n•	discussion of practical applications and preparation for i
