DESCRIPTION:\n\nAbstract\nIn the latest UN climate change conference held
  in Paris\, governments all around the world agreed to strengthen effort
 s to limit the rise in the global average temperature to 1.5°C above pre
 -industrial levels by the end of the century. While this greater level o
 f ambition is welcomed\, it significantly intensifies the need to attain
  even more drastic changes in our economies and societies. In particular
 \, this increases the challenge of attempting to improve the standards o
 f living of millions of people around the planet (i.e. the development s
 pace) within more stringent biophysical limits (i.e. the carbon space). 
 In order to overcome this dual challenge\, we require a better understan
 ding of the climate-development nexus and start implementing transformat
 ional development pathways that enable a rapid global transition to a lo
 w-carbon and more equitable future.\n\n\nBio\nMarco is currently a resea
 ch fellow based at the Sustainability Research Institure\, University of
  Leeds. He is associated with the Centre for Industrial Energy\, Materia
 ls and Products (CIE-MAP)\, the UK Energy Research Centre (EKERC) and th
 e Centre for Climate Change Economics and Policy (CCCEP). He has more th
 an twelve years of experience in research and economic analysis. Marco h
 as worked as a macroeconomic analyst\, among other places\, in the Mexic
 an Ministry of Finance\, the UN Conference on Trade and Development(UNCT
 AD) and the Stockholm Enviornment Institure. His work mainly focuses on 
 studying the climate-development nexus and assissing the wide economy im
 plications of reducing energy and material consumption.\n\n\nPlease RSVP
