DESCRIPTION:Trees are important to all of us. People plant trees to comme
 morate loved ones\, climb them as children (and sometimes as adults) and
  worry about them being cut down. Collecting Trees investigates the impo
 rtant relationship we have with trees and the impact they have on the wo
 rld around us. The exhibition will illustrate the different ways people 
 think about trees and how they are valued by different cultures. \n\nWe 
 want to collect objects to keep the collections relevant to modern visit
 ors and fit for future use. Tell us what objects related to trees you th
 ink the Museum should collect. Come in and add your stories to our colle
 ction.\n\nThe objects we’ve collected are part of our ‘Trees - collectin
 g to connect’ project demonstrating how important trees are. This exhibi
 tion forms part of the ‘Festival of Ecology’ taking place across the UK 
 to celebrate 100 years of the British Ecological Society. \n\n
