 ion and Markets Authority (CMA) is the UK’s principal competition and co
 nsumer protection authority and has an expanding presence in the North W
 est with a new office established in Manchester. We exist to help people
 \, businesses and the UK economy by promoting competitive markets and ta
 ckling unfair behaviour. Our work has never been more important\, given 
 the role that competitive markets play in meeting cost-of-living challen
 ges\, supporting growth and innovation across the UK economy.\n\nThis ev
 ent forms part of the CMA Board’s visit to Greater Manchester to meet an
 d hear from local businesses.\n\nAbout Marcus Bokkerink\, CMA Chair:\nMa
 rcus Bokkerink is from Greater Manchester\; he was raised and went to sc
 hool here. With close ties to the region\, Marcus feels strongly about l
 ocal success and growth opportunities. He has a track history of investi
 ng in start-ups and advising the entrepreneurs who lead them. Prior to j
 oining the CMA\, Marcus was Managing Director and Senior Partner at Bost
 on Consulting Group (BCG). While at BCG Marcus led the firm’s UK and Eur
 opean Consumer Practice\, UK and European Strategy Practice and establis
 hed and developed BCG’s China business.
