Freshers Week runs the week before your lectures and tutorials begin. It gives you the chance to find your feet and settle in. It's a bit of a whirlwind introduction to your University, the Students' Union and its activities, your Halls of Residence and University life in general. UMSU will be providing lots of information and events, including: Freshers Fair - meet all the societies Freshers Ball - meet and party with other incoming students Freshers Helpers - easy to spot to ask for advice and directions Welcome stalls in the foyers of Biko and Barnes Wallis buildings Freshers Week can be both fun and exhilarating. It can seem a bit daunting. It's easy to look around and think that everyone else has already made friends really quickly, but don't fret, they haven't! Some might know a couple of people before they arrive, but most people don't know anyone. You're all in the same boat together, and that's why it's so exciting. It's a new time in your life, take it at your own pace and enjoy.
