Measuring the portrayal of Muslims in the Media
Come along for an interactive discussion about the representation of Muslims in TV and Film.
Inspired by Riz Ahmed’s 2017 diversity on screen speech in the House of commons and the Bechdel Test. The Riz Test seeks to quantify the extent to which films perpetuate negative stereotypes of Muslims as violent, extreme or superstitious. Based on five criteria films either pass or fail the Riz Test.
As part of Islamophobia Awareness month, the Riz Test team will presenting their workshop at the Manchester Museum, followed by a panel discussion.
