DESCRIPTION:The Extended Project is a single piece of work of a student's
  choosing that requires evidence of planning\, preparation\, research an
 d independent learning. It is available as a stand-alone qualification f
 or A-level students and forms part of the Diploma.\n\nDates have been sc
 heduled throughout the year where teachers can bring groups of students 
 onto campus. These visits can include a research skills workshop\, a lib
 rary visit or both.\n\nThe Research Skills Workshop is led by staff and 
 postgraduate students from the University. The workshop introduces stude
 nts to academic research through a series of interactive activities and 
 group work. The library session is led by library staff and gives studen
 ts an introduction to locating materials – both books and online resourc
 es – for their assignments. Afterwards\, students have independent resea
 rch time where they can make use of the extensive resources the library 
 has to offer.\n
