NSG group is one of the largest manufacturers of glass and glazing materials for architectural, automotive and technical markets worldwide. NSG came to UK market by acquiring Pilkington glass in 1991, Pilkington then being the established know-how flat glass manufacturer famous all over UK and European markets.

Nowadays, glass applications worldwide go well beyond the architectural and automotive markets. There are such applications as displays, information devices, batteries, timing belts, coatings and even cosmetics. These applications require technical know-how and glass is being transformed into various shapes and morphologies to suit the customer needs.

Glass cord is the glass in the shape of string and is used in the camshaft belts for reinforcement. This application has been recognised by the Queen’s award in 2014 for the innovation of the year in UK.

Glass flake has been introduced to the market in 1969 for an application in anti-corrosion coating and polymers reinforcement. Today, 50 years later, this material still did not find an alternative replacement and is widely used by many industries. Pigment and substrate applications are relatively new applications of glass flake. With the applied wet chemistry process, the flat particles of glass become reflective to light and exhibit brilliance and sparkle effects, which are much appreciated by cosmetic and automotive paint industries.
