DESCRIPTION:An overview from the burns research lab\n\nBurns are a global
  problem recognised as a major area of concern by the WHO. It has taken 
 a long time to recognise that burn wounds are different from incisional 
 wounds\, excisional wounds and other forms of trauma. Despite advances i
 n burn care\, there remain clinical challenges in the management of burn
 s. \n\nThis seminar will be an overview of the burn research we are invo
 lved with\, both in understanding the basic pathophysiology of burn woun
 d healing and scarring and pre-clinical investigations of modulators of 
 burn wound healing and scarring. We hope to open up new areas of collabo
 ration for the future.\n\n\n
