Dr Steeg’s research focuses on the clinical management of people who present to emergency departments and primary care following self-harm.
Using data from anonymised electronic healthcare records, her research examines likelihood of different types of clinical care and risks of further self-harm and deaths by suicide or other external causes.
This talk will consider how socioeconomic factors impact rates of self-harm and suicide, including recent evidence on how the Covid-19 pandemic may have widened health inequalities.
