Anthropology against the big idea
Enough of turns. They make me dizzy and give me vertigo so on health and safety grounds I am trying to avoid them. Instead, I want to explore a patchwork approach to theory, making mosaics (where the gaps show). The book An anthropological toolkit introduces sixty different ideas. The hope is we can take a pick-and-mix approach to theory, choosing what is helpful rather than what is doctrinally correct or fashionable.
