Title: Large deviations of L-functions
Abstract: In this talk, I will discuss statistical properties of values of L-functions and their extreme values. In particular, I will review recent work on extending Selberg’s Central Limit Theorem from ranges of order of the standard deviation to ranges of order of the variance in a variety of contexts, inspired by random walk theory. Examples of these applications include values of the zeta function high up the critical line, central values of Dirichlet L-functions with large moduli and central values of L-functions associated to quadratic twists of elliptic curves.
