DESCRIPTION:Census 2021 for England and Wales enables the production of l
 ocal area profiles using multivariate data. In this workshop we will exp
 lore how to access and prepare this data to develop custom datasets to a
 llow the development of small area information.\n\nWe will cover the fol
 lowing areas:\n\n - Sources of data: the advantages and disadvantages of
  Nomis\, the ONS 'Create a custom dataset' tool and the new UK Data Serv
 ice tool for accessing aggregate data.\n - Census geographies: the geogr
 aphies available from the UK Data Service and the ONS open geography por
 tal that work with aggregate census data.\n - Accessing data: how to sel
 ect and download the data you require for an area profile.\n - Preparing
  data: how to build an area profile that can be used with mapping softwa
 re such as ARC-GIS and Q-GIS.\n - Potential limitations: issues that you
  may face when working with aggregate data caused by factors such as sta
 tistical disclosure control.\n\nThis free online workshop is aimed at th
 ose who are interested in developing better understanding of multivariat
 e neighbourhood data within local authorities\, counties and regions in 
 England and Wales. Additional materials will be provided to enable parti
 cipants to apply the principles delivered in the workshop after the sess
 ion.\n\nThe workshop will consist of an interactive presentation\, pract
 ical demonstration and activities throughout to help attendees get to gr
 ips with multivariate 2021 census data for England and Wales.\n\nPresent
