Join us for a celebratory weekend of free, unusual events and astonishing art. This is our goodbye for now, as we close the Whitworth to finish building the new gallery in the park.
There’ll be lots to do and see, with drama and spectacle coming to a head on Saturday evening. And as dusk falls on Sunday, Nick Crowe and Ian Rawlinson, artists who know Manchester and the Whitworth well, are marking the end of this phase of the gallery’s life with Six White Horses, a work that is enchanting, beautiful and elegiac.
Not to be missed, you’ll never see the like of this in the park again.
This final extraordinary weekend is our way of saying thank you to everyone who makes the Whitworth what it is. We look forward to reopening in 2014 ready to inspire you again for many years to come.
