DESCRIPTION:For this HCRI Speaker Series we will be joined by Dr Ilan Kel
 man. Ilan Kelman http://www.ilankelman.org and Twitter @IlanKelman is a 
 Reader in Risk\, Resilience and Global Health at University College Lond
 on\, England and a researcher at the University of Agder\, Kristiansand\
 , Norway. His overall research interest is linking disasters and health\
 , including the integration of climate change into disaster research and
  health research. That covers three main areas: (i) disaster diplomacy a
 nd health diplomacy http://www.disasterdiplomacy.org \; (ii) island sust
 ainability involving safe and healthy communities in isolated locations 
 http://www.islandvulnerability.org \; and (iii) risk education for healt
 h and disasters http://www.riskred.org\n\nDr Kelman will be discussing "
 Disaster risk reduction in 2050"  with reference to climate change and  
 sustainable development goals\, but focussing on aspects of vulnerabilit
 y and society\, rather than technological innovation. Elements will incl
 ude looking backwards as well as forwards\, plus the firm connection of 
 Disaster Risk Reducation being rooted in equity\, justice\, and governan
