DESCRIPTION:The Discover Law Day will give students the opportunity to fi
 nd out more about studying law at Manchester\, as well as providing info
 rmation on the variety of career choices available to law graduates.\n\n
 Law is a fascinating degree leading to a career as a solicitor or a barr
 ister\, but also in other professions including business management\, so
 cial and public services including the police\, careers in the charitabl
 e sector or international organisations.\n\nDiscover Law Day will provid
 e information about what Law students study\, the methods of teaching an
 d other opportunities provided by the School of Law\, including our Lega
 l Advice Centres where Manchester students give advice to members of the
  public about their legal problems.\n\nYou will also find out about moot
 ing\, where students conduct mock legal argument and advocacy in competi
 tion\, and Streetlaw which provides students with the experience of expl
 aining complex legal issues to the public.\n\nStudents will gain insight
  into how a Law degree will develop research skills\, communication skil
 ls and planning and time management skills leading to a successful caree
 r.\n\nOn the Discover Law Day\, students will experience talks\, worksho
 ps and a taster lecture from academics working on Law to see what it is 
 really like to be a Law student. You can ask any questions about Law and
  university life\, with the chance to speak to our staff and current stu
 dents\, explore the campus and see the Law School’s facilities\, includi
 ng the Moot Courtroom.
