 eams together with University of Manchester Intellectual Property (UMIP)
  and the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) 
 would like to invite you to a one-day workshop aimed at exploring the re
 lationships between academic and industrial partnerships in biomedicine.
 \n\nThe workshop is free to attend\, there is free transport\, lunch and
  refreshments. Details regarding transport arrangements will be sent out
  to all registered participants prior to the event.\n\nThe aims of the w
 orkshop are as follows:\n\n*To provide PhD students\, post-doctoral rese
 archers and early career scientists with a flavour of academic partnersh
 ips with industry\, the exploitation and commercialisation of research a
 nd wider career options outside academia\n*To create awareness of the op
 portunities of working collaboratively with industry with emphasis on th
 e value and impact of our intellectual output to society in general\, in
 dustry and commerce\n*To embed a culture of enterprise within the Univer
 sity\, for example encourage increased participation in enterprise compe
 titions such as the BBSRC Biotech Yes competition and Venture Out\n*To p
 rovide an understanding of the function of UMIP and Business Development
