North West Biotech Initiative is a student-led society registered with the University of Manchester. We work with an aim to bridge the gap between students and industry experts in the North-West Biotechnology sector. We run events around the year to help students propel careers in various Biotech and Pharma industries. We believe we can help you to network and collaborate with our industry partners and further your future opportunities.
We as a society started in the year 2014 and have been able to increase our outreach to the student community in Manchester through various events and competitions. We successfully ran over 14 events in the 2022-23 academic year including webinars, seminars, in-person networking events and competitions. Over 500 students attended our events in the last academic year and we were able to successfully secure over £5000 in sponsorships to support these events, with an average event rating of 4.6/5.
On the occasion of our 10th year anniversary this academic year, we would like to organise a networking/social event for all our sponsors and the students of the University to celebrate what we as a society have achieved over the past 10 years. This event is scheduled for Tuesday 17th October 2023. We would be delighted if you could join us on the day to get to know the society, our partners and help to celebrate our accomplishments over the last 10 years. The event will be held at Track Brewery Taproom from 6.30-9.30pm, and will consist of a drinks reception and welcome, awards and networking activity. Drinks and pizza will be provided.
