Dr Miriam Firth will offer an insightful lecture regarding a topic within Management Leadership and Leisure. The lecture will offer data on service encounters in Leisure businesses. I will identify how performance, emotional labour, aesthetic labour, intercultural communication and customer satisfaction are all demanded of staff, but not always considered in current theory and business training.
An outcome of this lecture will be that students will experience SEED undergraduate teaching at The University of Manchester and will learn about staff perspectives on service with customers in leisure environments. This will allow you to consider how management can improve customer service via staff training and development.
