DESCRIPTION:Taking Interdependency Seriously: Brexit and the Rising Power
s with Professor Alan Winters\n\nPost-Brexit Britain will be an outward
looking champion of the global system\, we are told. This will inevitabl
y involve a serious engagement with the Rising Powers – more serious\, i
n fact\, than Britain has managed until now. Professor Alan Winters\, Di
rector of the UK Trade Policy Observatory at the University of Sussex\,
will first consider the importance of the Rising Powers to Britain’s tra
de aspirations\, and then how policy might be configured to assist them
 – both multilateral policy\, via the World Trade Organisation\, and poss
ible bilateral arrangements of the sort that have figured prominently in
the Brexit narrative.\n\nThis lecture is part of the Rising Powers Publ
ic Lecture Series\, which forms part of the final conference and culmina
tion of the ESRC's five year research programme on "Rising Powers and In
 terdependent Futures"\, exploring the role of Brazil\, China\, India\, R
ussia and South Africa in the global economy.\n\nReserve your place: htt
