DESCRIPTION:The course provides an introductory training in Stata\, a sta
 tistical package increasingly used for social research data analysis whi
 ch has powerful data manipulation procedures and extensive and powerful 
 statistical capabilities.\n\nThe aim of the course is to familiarise par
 ticipants with the basic features of Stata 14. On completing the course\
 , participants will have covered the following through a combination of 
 presentation and practical sessions:\n\n- The STATA environment: Opening
  and exploring files\, looking at labels\, editing and entering data.\n-
  Exploratory analysis: logging outputs\, producing tables\, subsetting a
 nd descriptive statistics.\n- Data manipulation: computing new variables
 \, recoding\, keeping and dropping\, saving commands in a .do file.\n- S
 TATA graphics\, help and supporting resources.\n\nOn completion of the c
 ourse\, participants will have the necessary familiarity with Stata to m
 ove on to further Stata courses and/or continue learning themselves
